Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What is the difference between static weighing and dynamic weighing?
A: Static weighing requires the product to stop on the scale, which significantly limits line speed. Dynamic weighing is performed while the product is moving on the conveyor, allowing 100% product inspection without slowing down production.
Q: Why are three separate conveyors required?
A: An infeed conveyor is needed to separate products and ensure they arrive at the weighing conveyor at the correct speed. The weighing conveyor itself is short and highly precise. The outfeed conveyor receives the product after weighing and transfers it onward or to the rejection system. This separation is essential to prevent vibrations from affecting the weighing accuracy.
Q: Can the system provide me with production statistics?
A: Absolutely. This is one of its main advantages. The system provides real-time and historical data on average weight, standard deviation, the number of accepted products, and the number of rejected products. These data are essential for Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Q: What type of reject mechanism do I need?
A: It depends on the product. A pneumatic pusher is suitable for stable, packaged items. An air blast is ideal for very light products (such as snack bags). A drop flap is suitable for flat products, while a sweeper arm is best for round or unstable products.
Q: Is the system easy to clean?
A: Yes. Our hygienic versions are designed with an open-frame structure, and the conveyor belts can be quickly released without tools, allowing thorough washdown of all components.
